Researcher in Ancient History & Egyptology

Joana Rito Agostinho is a dedicated researcher at the Centre for History of the University of Lisbon, actively contributing to the "Court and Diplomacy Studies" and the Egyptology Research Group. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of Lisbon, she is currently pursuing a Master's in History, specializing in Ancient History, with her thesis expected by March 2025.

Her research delves into the intercultural and diplomatic dynamics of Ancient Egypt within the Mediterranean context. As a Research Fellow, she has participated in various academic events and completed specialized courses in ancient languages, including Akkadian.

Joana has also shared her insights through lectures at the University of Lisbon, covering topics such as "Egypt and the Nine Bows: The Characterization of Foreigners in the Middle Kingdom" and "The Intercultural Dynamics of Egypt in the New Kingdom."
